Literacy development involves encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write. Children must be given access to a wide range of reading materials (books, poems, and other written materials) to ignite their interest.

This Early Years Storybook activities contains 10 excerpts from Fairy Stories and Traditional Tales.  They have missing words to encourage children to listen to, and become familiar with the stories. Children are encouraged to re-tell their own version of the story, or to share the story with another person.
